Megan Fox Workout & Diet For Transformers 2

If they had a choice, a lot of women would love to get the hot, hard body of Hollywood’s own Megan Fox. Believe it or not, getting a body like that is not an impossibility! Genetics are not the only factor, and while Megan is a young starlet, it is not totally out of the realm that the average woman could attain this type of body through hard work and exercise. Fortunately, Megan gave a head-start for women that want to emulate her look by sharing some techniques that she uses herself to stay fit.

Megan Fox’s Transformers Workout Regimen

Here’s a quote you’ll probably find interesting:

I’m very lazy. I hire a personal trainer who is supposed to come three times a week. He comes to me – I don’t even have to leave the house. He’ll come to my house and I’ll be lying in the exact same spot he left me in. I’ll be like: ‘Not today! Not today!’ So, for me to do these scenes [in Transformers] was hard but fun.”

The good news is that despite her Hollywood achievements such as being dubbed the “hottest woman on the planet,” and becoming the spokesmodel for Emporio Armani, Megan is not what you would call a fitness fanatic. However she know what to do to stay in top shape when it counts. The workout regimen we are about to highlight here is what Megan did in preparation for her role in Transformers 2, a well-structured routine which is based mostly around HIIT cardio, steady state cardio, bodyweight exercises and a lot of abdominal focus.

In order to time compress her body weight routine, Megan hired a personal trainer. The routine that her trainer created for her has also been used by a lot of Hollywood “hot bodies” and focuses less on achieving that bulky, bodybuilder look and more on getting the stars looking slim and sexy. Both male and female celebrities use these fat burning types of workouts on a regular basis – they are firm believers in what they can do.

The workout that Megan Fox received from her trainer was designed to stick to bodyweight intervals to help keep her sexy, slim and strong, but without adding bulk to her body.

Let’s look at the principles used behind Megan Fox’s Workouts:

Body weight Interval Circuits: The “Spartacus Workout” is also amazingly effective for females who are aiming for a Megan Fox type figure. Check out the workout routine here.

Planks: Without a doubt, planks are by far the best move for women to get flat abs and a super slim waist (22 inches) like Megan. Crunches are over rated and can actually be detrimental to the way your abdominals look!

A Brief Ab Circuit: After warming up with this plank routine, she would then perform 15-20 minutes on an ab based circuit that included Captain Chair leg ups, V-Ups, and Swiss ball leg raises, performed interval-style – hard effort with minimal rest between exercises. By super-setting exercises in this manner, the heart rate stays up, conditioning is enhanced, and it creates a much more effective workout.

Stationary Bike: By now, her heart was pumping. To take advantage of this, she would perform a half hour of steady state cycling on the stationary bike at a low level of intensity. (Following intervals with low intensity cardio is extremely effective for burning body fat as fuel).

Why Megan Fox’s Brief Workout Burns Fat Like Crazy: You have probably heard that High Intensity Interval Training is great for getting lean and burning fat. This is true, but there is a flaw…

Interval Cardio is great at releasing fatty acids from fat cells (basically releasing fat into the bloodstream)…but is not good for using these fatty acids, once released.

Low Intensity Cardio is great for using fat for energy, but isn’t good at releasing fat from the fat cells in the first place.

Megan Fox’s Workout Program was a Hybrid Approach: She used body weight intervals to release the fat from the fat cells, followed by low intensity cardio to use these fatty acids for energy. The result was that Megan had a smokin’ body for Transformers.

So when you get right down to it, this routine is pretty basic. Megan’s trainer used this routine combined with reduced calories and Paleo Diet. Why did he suggest Paleo Diet? By removing refined sugars and grains from your diet, your body will remain in a fat-burning model and effectively regulate its insulin levels. There are a lot of celebrities using Paleo, including the lovely Megan Fox, as well as Matthew McConaughey and Paul Walker. Just looking at these actors, what do you see? That’s right – they all have amazing bodies.

In a nutshell, the Paleo Diet is a basic whole foods type of diet that focuses on veggies and lean proteins. It removes added sugars and refined foods completely from the equation. Doctors and trainers alike have seen the overall health benefits as well as physical benefits of Paleo in their patients and clients. In addition to the Paleo Diet, Megan Fox added a reduction in calories to her diet in order to give her that sculpted super lean look she was sporting in Transformers 2.

Some of the things she eats regularly include eggs, something she eats daily for breakfast. Almonds are another important part of her diet, used to help control hunger and provide her body with a good source of healthy fats. The antioxidant properties of almonds come from its vitamin E rich nutrients, which are very beneficial in burning fat and boosting the results of your cardio and ab routines.

So forget those weird diet plans and crazy, time-consuming workout plans, the routine that Megan Fox follows is not really all that difficult if you do it right and stick with it. It’s not like a pill you just take or something, but with some discipline at mealtime and some hard work at the gym, just about any woman can do what it takes to have a Megan Fox body.
